Reflections
Celebrating student creativity and self-expression through the National PTA Reflections program.
Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that encourages students to explore their creativity and express their ideas through original works of art. Each year, students create work inspired by a national theme and may enter in one or more arts categories, including visual arts, photography, literature, music composition, dance choreography, and film production.
For 2026–2027, the theme is “What My Culture Means to Me.”
Maple Hills is proud to participate in Reflections each year, and we encourage all students to consider entering!
Our Art Docents play an important role in supporting Reflections at Maple Hills. Throughout the fall, please help us spread the word and encourage students to participate. Reflections is an opportunity for students of all experience levels to create something meaningful and share their own ideas and perspectives.
Art Docents may also have the opportunity to serve as Reflections judges. Entries are judged without the student artist’s identity visible, allowing each work to be considered on its own merits. More information about judging and volunteer opportunities will be shared as the program gets underway.
Because Reflections is a significant program of its own, it is coordinated by a dedicated Maple Hills Reflections Chair, who manages student submissions, program requirements, judging, and advancement of selected entries.
Students first participate through Maple Hills. Selected entries may advance through additional levels of the PTA Reflections program, with the possibility of progressing to council, state, and ultimately national recognition.
